Diane Renna offers unique programs designed to meet the social, emotional and therapeutic needs of children with Sensory Processing Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorders
SPEONK, NY, December 8, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Diane M. Renna, Owner of Indigo Impressions LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in inspirational and motivational therapy.
As the mother of a girl who triumphed over Sensory Processing Disorder, Ms. Renna understands firsthand the challenges associated with living in an over stimulating world. However, she has also learned of the many resources available to children, parents, and families handling SPD and its affiliated disabilities; she has developed a desire to give inspiration and hope to these people. For the past six years, she has served as the owner of Indigo Impressions LLC, an organization that offers community outreach support and unique programs designed to meet the social, emotional and therapeutic needs of children with SPD and autism spectrum disorders. She creates and directs play groups for children, including the Sensational Social Skills Playgroup and the Sensory-Enriched Playgroup & Parent Learning Program. Her aim is to work with other agencies and groups to create and coordinate programs and workshops that incorporate traditional and alternative therapies/services that educate, enlighten, and inspire all individuals. She feels it is important to keep a balanced and harmonious relationship with nature and with the community, as well as achieve a healthy mind, body, and spirit connection. Her role enables her to utilize her expertise in inspirational and motivational therapy.
Furthermore, Ms. Renna wrote and self-published a children's social story about her daughter to help other families dealing with sensory processing disorders and autism spectrum disorders. Entitled, "Meghan's World," the book validates childrens' feelings, and gives parents, teachers, and therapists important information about the traditional and alternative therapies that helped her daughter. In 2008, it was the finalist in the children's nonfiction category of the National Indie Excellence Book Awards. Ms. Renna also wrote and self published "In the Light of God's Love," with the Movement of Change Program, created by Robert Evans, Neale Donald Walsch and Julian Kalmar; the book's purpose is to help guide others in how to unlock their inner wisdom, and to inspire them to experience spiritual growth through learning how their life's circumstances reveal their life's purpose. The book also has a FREE on-line environment that provides guided meditations, positive visualizations, journaling tips and more.
Ms. Renna has learned hands-on with occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, special educators and vision therapists. Additionally, she has taken many continuing education classes to further her understanding by attending conferences over many years, including those lead by Defeat Autism Now!, Lucy J. Miller, Ph.D, OTR, Carol Stock Kranowitz, Diana A. Henry, MS, OTR/L, Temple Grandin and Steven Shore, among others. Ms. Renna serves as an officer of the SHEEE Foundation, a national nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for education, enlightenment and empowerment of those who seek to be in service to and in harmony with the greater good. Looking toward the future, Ms. Renna hopes to work with like-minded individuals in a children's center offering a broad range of services nationwide.
