VALLEY SPRINGS, CA, July 21, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A new online newspaper called "The Local Scoop News.com" (www.thelocalscoopnews.com) is set to hit the Internet today. According to Plez Hill, editor, it is geared toward covering the local news of California's Amador, Calaveras, and parts of San Joaquin and Sacramento counties.
"We will be covering a niche of online news that is badly needed," Hill said. "Areas like Lodi, Galt, Jackson, San Andreas and small towns inbetween need to have their news, events and interests reported immediately without having to wait for a printed newspaper to be distributed," Hill continued. "Also, small town community news is often neglected by the printed press. We intend to fill that void."
The new online publication will support local businesses with its local business directory, online coupons and "Big Daily Deals" that give 50 to 90 percent off of services and items at places like restaurants, events and spas.
"To help ensure we are getting the community news we need, for every local news story submitted to us by a reader and which we use online, we will be issuing to them a $5 coupon towards any of our Big Daily Deal offers. This is in keeping with our motto, 'Covering the news with a local touch'," Hill said.
Besides covering local news and supporting local businesses, www.thelocalscoopnews.com will also feature celebrity gossip and some national news stories. "We intend this to be a one-stop online news source," Hill added.
