Charles Causley Festival, luxury hotels in Cornwall, Jamaica Inn Cornwall.
CORNWALL, ENGLAND, May 15, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Charles Causley Festival is due to take place in Launceston from Wednesday June 1st to Sunday June 5th this year.
Visitors to the Cornish town will find a number of exhibitions, performances, book signings and talks taking place during the five-day celebration of art and literature.
The festival was founded in tribute to Charles Causley, the late poet and writer who was born in Launceston in 1917 and spent most of his life working in Cornwall.
Held for the first time last summer, it features a mixture of ticketed events and informal talks at which donations are welcome.
A number of writers are set to take part in this year's festival, including scientist and environmentalist James Lovelock, children's author Georgie Adams and local columnist Michael Williams.
Lovelock, who is known for originating the Gaia hypothesis, will kick the festival off when he appears in conversation at Launceston Town Hall on Wednesday June 1st. Tickets for this event are priced at GBP6.
The programme also includes musical entertainment, with singer-songwriter Jim Causley - a distant relative of the poet - due to perform at Jericho's Brasserie on Friday June 3rd.
Festival-goers will find a wide selection of luxury hotels in Cornwall at LateRooms.com, including the nearby Jamaica Inn Cornwall.
