Such exemplary dastards from history and legend as the biblical Isaac (a willing if sulky accessory to his own sacrifice), corpse-loving weirdo Henry David Thoreau, and compulsive wine-diluter Thomas Jefferson are tenderly skewered in the process.

Muggins, self-proclaimed American humorist and lifelong wussie, touches on many of the aspects of modern life that awe the spineless--demanding bosses, cordial streetwalkers, Lindsay Lohan, airport security, airports, air--while offering scant hope of redemption. He also recounts such wussilicious misadventures from his own life as his difficulty disposing of the worn-out corpse of his human-face-having fellatio simulator (burnable? plastic? organic?) and his pathetic efforts to convince the three fetching college students who have taken him on a cross-country camping trip that he is not, as they insist, "harmless."
