Tiziana Ciccone Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
Tiziana Ciccone has studied the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education since 1997

RICHMOND HILL, ON, CANADA, November 11, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tiziana Ciccone, President and Executive Director of Reggio Kids, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in curriculum development.

Since 1997, Ms. Ciccone has studied the Reggio Emilia approach to education, which recognizes the child as an important participant in the learning process. In 2003, she joined an American study tour of the preschools of Reggio Emilia in Italy. After discovering the importance of the learning environment, Ms. Ciccone founded the three private preschools, including Reggio Kids.

As her school's president and executive director, she is responsible for managing finances, developing school curriculum and overseeing preschool classes. Ms. Ciccone also serves as a program and curriculum development consultant for other schools. She has 30 years of experience working with children and their families, and has served as the executive director of several preschools.

In 1981, she graduated from Humber College with an honors diploma in early childhood education, with a specialty in developmental delays. She also holds a Montessori preschool diploma. Ms. Ciccone is a member of the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario and has been nominated with a business award from her local chamber of commerce. Ms. Ciccone recently published her first book, "Wake up, the Baby's Coming." In the future, she hopes to release more books through her publishing company, Pancake Puddle Books.

Teachers of the Reggio method believe that the success of its educational approach stems from its deep respect for the culture of childhood. They also maintain that children, parents and teachers work together in the learning process. At Reggio Kids, teachers follow the directions of their students and constantly adapt, document and interpret their goals, theories and strategies. By doing so, teachers gain insight into children's thinking patterns, and are better able to implement changes and support student discoveries.
