It will be housed at the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Donna Regina Napoli (Madre) arts space, with visitors also able to experience the stunning Project Room programme while they are in the museum.

Ulysses Syndrome allows attendees to retrace the steps of various Homeric characters, who were enticed by beautiful females on an island and attempted to stop them from returning home.

Travel listings site What's on When offered an interpretation of the exhibition's title, saying it suggests women can fascinate men without the "siren's singing power".

"Naples' Madre hosts an underwater exhibition by photographer Gabriele Giugni which revisits Ulysses' journey, blending aspects of Greek mythology with the reality of photography," explained the online resource.

The organisers suggested the feeling of wanting to explore the world while at the same time protect one's roots can be sympathised with by many people visiting the venue.

It is open every day from 10:00 to 19:00 local time, except Tuesdays when it is closed.
